Abhrajyoti Chakraborty writes essays, criticism, profiles and fiction. His work has appeared in The Guardian, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Nation, The New Republic, Air Mail, Hazlitt, The Point, The Times Literary Supplement, The Caravan, The Los Angeles Review of Books and The Observer UK. He was a Provost's fellow at the Iowa Writers' Workshop, where he was also a recipient of the Deena Davidson Friedman Prize for Fiction.
